A CENTRAL LOCATION
For people looking to enter the real estate market in Toronto in a neighbourhood that offers access to the city and lot of retail and restaurant options within walking distance of their home, I like to recommend Davisville Village. The homes here are smaller and more affordable then in other parts of North Toronto, and the area is a terrific option for first time buyers.
Davisville Village offers a good choice of new, custom-built infill homes, mixed with older, smaller houses all in a central location.
There are many parks throughout the area where young families can be found on nicer days sipping coffee, walking their dogs, or playing ultimate Frisbee. It’s always fun to see people finding their own version of enjoyment in the many public spaces that this nice neighbourhood provides.
The neighbourhood features great shopping and restaurants, on both Mt. Pleasant and Yonge Street. It’s not uncommon here to see young parents mixing comfortably with the nanny community, and younger children playing in the parks.
For young professionals, access to the city is quick and simple via the TTC subway and/or any number of direct routes downtown. It’s easy to see how quickly families find their routines and points of enjoyment in this vital and active community pocket.
As well, because of the size of the homes here and there tendency to be categorized as a place to start from, Davisville Village means homes tend to come on the market more often. It’s a well-established neighbourhood where the value of a real estate investment can be definitely counted on. It’s easy to see why the neighbourhood is popular now, and why it will be well into the future.
