Profile
A beautifully treed area of Toronto’s real estate, Moore Park lies along both sides of St. Clair Avenue E. between the Vale of Avoca section of the Rosedale ravine and Moore Park ravine. Moore Park houses stretch from the northern boundary of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery to the southern boundary of the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. The neighbourhood takes its name from its developer, John T. Moore, who encouraged buyers to move to the area by building two bridges in 1891: the original steel bridge on St. Clair over the Vale of Avoca, and the original wooden bridge on Moore Ave. over the Moore Park ravine. Moore Park was annexed by the City of Toronto on December 16, 1912.
